ANGELICA VINEYARD ESSENCE 500 ML
The grapes for this wine come from the Angélica vineyard and follow a very particular process. The resulting wine, which has a high alcohol content and residual sugar, is reminiscent of Italian amarone or port wines.
This wine is made only in exceptional vintages, when the humidity conditions and the cool mountain climate produce an optimal natural sweetness.
Varietal: 100% Malbec
Vineyards: Viñedo Angélica, Lunlunta, 920 masl
Soil composition: 65 hectares. Alluvial origin. Clay loam in the surface layer with rounded rocks at the bottom.
Fermentation: Cold pre-fermentation, for 3 days at temp. less than 10ºC, in 500-liter French oak wooden barrels.
Fermentation: Selected Yeasts, Max. Temp. 24-28º C for 32 days, with 20/30 days of maceration. French oak barrels of 225 and 500 liters.
Aging: 48 months in French oak The grapes for this wine, which come from the Angélica vineyard, follow a very particular process. The plants have two arms called "loaders" whose function is to support the clusters. A loader arm is cut and left on the plant to dehydrate naturally. The other arm continues its cycle of natural maturity. Then the grapes from both arms are harvested at the same time, where half are raisins and the other half are ripe grapes. In this way, a lot of complexity, concentration and freshness are obtained at the same time. The resulting wine, which has a high alcohol content and residual sugar, is reminiscent of Italian amarone or port wines.
Tasting Notes: With an intense and voluptuous nose, notes of dried plums, licorice, figs stand out, with hints of chocolate, cinnamon and pepper. In the mouth it is dense and silky, although vibrant due to its refreshing acidity. In the mouth, the fruity notes are repeated, with the addition of caramel notes that remain for a long time, in a long and balanced finish.
